Avida- Testing Darwin

I learned about some interesting software that is designed to test Darwin's evolutionary theory. There was an article about it in the February issue of Discover. The software is called "Avida" and it is being distributed free at this site: http://dllab.caltech.edu/avida/.

I downloaded it yesterday and got it running on my computer. The Intro to the Discover article can be found here. Only subscriber's can read the whole thing online.

It is quite fascinating what they have been able to discover with this program so far and research is continuing. I intend to follow the developments.
